Community Capital
Listening Session

A storytelling initiative that documents the experiences, lessons, and perspectives of the people strengthening our communities every day. By listening first, we uncover the knowledge, resilience, and ideas that already exist within our neighborhoods

“Every neighborhood has people quietly creating stability. We’re here to listen.”

What is it?

Community Capital Listening Sessions bring together business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders, residents, workers, and students to share the experiences that shape stronger communities.

Through guided conversations, we document local knowledge, personal stories, and practical lessons that often go unheard. Together, these conversations preserve community knowledge while highlighting the people creating stability, opportunity, and resilience.

Community Capital

In the Community

Listening Sessions take place throughout Greater Boston in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, community organizations, and local gathering spaces where people are already creating opportunity and supporting one another.

We believe some of the most valuable insights about community capital already exist within these spaces. By listening first, we gain a deeper understanding of local strengths, emerging needs, and the relationships that help communities thrive.

Why We Are Doing This

Center community voices

Create space for residents, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to share the experiences and perspectives that shape their communities.

Preserve lived experience

Document stories, lessons, and practical knowledge that are often shared informally but rarely captured.

Celebrate local leadership

Highlight the individuals and organizations creating opportunity, resilience, and positive change throughout their communities.

Strengthen community knowledge

Build a growing collection of insights that can inform future partnerships, programs, and community investment.

Looking Ahead

Selected conversations will be featured in the upcoming Community section of inarapool.com.

Over time, this growing collection will become a public library of stories, insights, and community perspectives that help strengthen financial resilience and expand access to opportunity.
